Governor McDonnell Announces Inorganic Ventures Expansion in Montgomery County
– Company to invest $1.3 million and create 21 new jobs –

RICHMOND – Governor Bob McDonnell announced today that Inorganic Ventures, a leading manufacturer of custom inorganic chemical blends, will invest $1.3 million to expand its headquarters, manufacturing and distribution operation in Montgomery County. The company will add 20,000 square feet to its current facility and create 21 new jobs.

Speaking about today's announcement, Governor McDonnell said, "Inorganic Ventures has experienced great success in Montgomery County since moving its operations from New Jersey to Virginia in 2008, and is now expanding to accommodate a growing customer base. The company is a leader in its field because it custom creates nearly any inorganic standard, all in an environmentally responsible, energy-efficient manner. We thank Inorganic Ventures for its commitment and growth in the Commonwealth. "

"With this expansion Inorganic Ventures is not only adding space to its current facility, it is adding a second-shift of employees to take care of immediate demand," said Jim Cheng, Virginia Secretary of Commerce and Trade. "This project is testament to Montgomery County's cost-effective operating environment and available, dedicated workforce."

Inorganic Ventures is the leading custom inorganic chemical standards manufacturer in the United States, preparing custom and conventional chemical standards for companies around the world. Privately held and founded in 1990, Inorganic Ventures can prepare almost any inorganic chemical blend and can tailor the chemical blend to fit its customers' specifications.

"We have been very pleased with our move to Virginia and the valuable assistance provided to us by the Commonwealth," said Paul R. Gaines, PhD, CEO & Senior Technical Advisor, Inorganic Ventures. "Our contacts, at all levels – state, county and town – have continued to be responsive to our needs and we value their expertise and knowledge.  We are excited about our growth and the ability to provide jobs in Southwest Virginia."

The Virginia Economic Development Partnership worked with Montgomery County and the New River Valley Economic Development Alliance to secure the project for Virginia. Through its Virginia Jobs Investment Program, the Virginia Department of Business Assistance will provide funding and services to support the company's recruitment and training activities.

"Inorganic Ventures is the leader in custom inorganic chemical standards manufacturing," said Montgomery County Board Chair Jim Politis. "We are proud that since their decision to move to Falling Branch Corporate Park in 2008, the company has been so successful that it is expanding its state-of-the-art facility and adding professional jobs."
