RICHMOND – Governor Bob McDonnell is encouraging all Virginians to support their local small businesses this coming Saturday, November 26th as part of the nationwide "Small Business Saturday" movement. Governor McDonnell also issued a proclamation, recognizing November 26 as "Small Business Saturday" in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Throughout November, Governor McDonnell has partnered with the NFIB to call attention to small businesses in Virginia who have hired additional employees in recent months, despite the tough economy and continued economic uncertainty, declaring November "Job Creator Appreciation Month." Today's featured Virginia Job Creator is Silverchair Information Systems in Charlottesville, which has added 55 new employees so far in 2011.
